Due to large crowds and all the people trying to take pictures of art etc; it is really difficult to stop and appreciate anything outside the realm of voyeurism in an institution such as MoMa. Also, because of the amount of masterworks that MoMa owns it is a frustrating to attempt to get a real understanding of the significance of any single piece or its context when up against a work of similar importance.
For as much good that an institution such as MoMa has brought to the world of art and design, I feel that it also fosters a sense of backlash relegating it to a similar position of Wal-Mart. IMO anyhow....
