I have never been to the 168st-Washington Heights 1/9 station ever (I rarely get in to 60's much less the 160's) so this station was a pleasant surprise.

Yeah, I took this picture. The push for the ban fizzled out after the 2004 Republican National Convention, and people are still free to take pictures in the subway. I always figured that the ban was connected to the RNC somehow, but I do believe that you aren't able to take pictures of "sensitive" or "restricted" areas of the subway. What those are, I don't know. I guess when the police officer asks me not to take a picture, that is when I would know where and what a "restricted zone" is.
